The world can frighten,

But sometimes there’s a night when

The earth seems at peace

And minds are at ease,

Where sweet music plays

And drunk couples sway,

Sparklers cut through humid air,

Fingers run through sweat-matted hair,

And the kids don’t fight

Not on this night,

This one perfect night,

Where everything’s right.
