By Benjamin Shapiro
We fill silence’s empty spaces

With empty words from empty places,

For we fear what that void shows,

Don’t want to hear what silence knows,

We may find in that black reflection

That we are heading in the wrong direction

Or, perhaps, we’ll see much worse,

Nothing evil, not a curse,

But that thing we want to hide:

That we’re actually empty inside.
